Christmas(Tree) Fashion Show?!! (Part 1)

In conjunction with the Christmas celebration…around the end of the year,in the month of December…shopping malls tend to be crowded with people,as there are kids on holidays,as people are spending their money on Year End Sales,as well as also last-minute shoppers, looking for Christmas gifts…Besides having more people in the shopping mall, the population of trees(?) increased as well and its environment is beautifully decorated…with all the “bling-blings” for its Christmas tree, extra lightings which increases the expenditure on electrical bills,Christmas songs suddenly became very popular, budgeted decorations(depending on shopping malls),clones of Santa begun emerging, etc…to commemorate this joyous celebration and provide a festive cheer to everyone…

Beneath all this happy-happy-joy-joy stuff…Lies a competition,a battle or war if one may consider it to be…Candidates(shopping malls) from all over Malaysia…no matter big or small, old or new, popular or not…duke it out to see…whose shopping mall has the most…no,not the number of customers…but, the most attractive Christmas Tree!!! It’s like a hidden fashion show…for trees…to unveil their true beauty…green as they may be at first, but after a complete “makeover”…a pageant is in the making…transforming from an ugly duckling to an elegant swan in the end…

Alrightey then…enough with the chit-chat…let us go on and have a look…presenting…The Christmas(Tree) Fashion Show 2006!!! =P

First off,we have…all the way from KL…Lot 10’s rookie Christmas Tree!!!

Simple yet elegant…white lightings with white enormous-looking marshmallows…brings the feeling of having a snowball fight upon gazing at its oversized white furry balls =P

Our next candidate…another contestant from the lean-mean streets of KLBerjaya Times Square’s red giant wonder!!!

Accompanied by its siblings/bodyguards/minions…Don’t mess with it…
(I thought Berjaya Times Square would’ve invested in a bigger one…Hmmm…)

From 1 Utama…Spot the hidden Mickey!!!

Apparently,Mickey has a zit problem(red balloon) =_=”

A closer inspection on the Christmas trees around…

Balls with various colours and sizes…never mind that, just give me the presents underneath the tree!!! =P

Here is a shopping mall in between 2 valleys…Midvalley Megamall!!!

In the Centre Court…every little kid’s dream…a world made up from candy…like a scene from Charlie&The Chocolate Factory…Hmmm, and perhaps dentists will be even richer, raking up all the cash from parents whose kids suffered tooth problems =P And the Tooth Fairy will be poorer? <= I

One of the Christmas trees around the shopping mall…
Oh my goodness…Santa traded the legs of an angel,a toy soldier and even his reindeer…into candy sticks?!! <= 0

And another shot of another Christmas tree…

Oh no!!! Its one of those huts where Hansel&Gretel got captured by some evil old hag…quickly, cut the tree down to fall on the hut =P

Interval Break…we’ll be back after this short break =)
To be continued…in Part 2

Christmas(Tree) Fashion Show?!! (Part 2)

(Continuation from Part 1)

…And we’re back!!! Didn’t took too long,huh? =P
Let us continue from where we left off, shall we?

Back to KL once again…for those who buy Mercedes-Benz and BMWs as though those were merely toy cars only…Starhill Gallery is the next spot!!!

Here’s a good suggestion(albeit odd)…since everyone just display their Christmas tree standing on the ground…Starhill Gallery decided to be different from the rest by HANGING the trees instead!!! Miniature-sized white Christmas trees being hung at the entrance…
(Again…I thought Starhill Gallery would’ve invested in a bigger tree…insufficient space I think, hence the Christmas trees are being hanged?!!)

We are being attacked by flying Christmas trees!!! Larger version…

If someone was below and they wished for a Christmas tree…well, they probably might be able to get one…falling from above em’…if they are lucky/unlucky,hehe =P

A lighted up “gwai-lo”/orang(pokok) putih/Albino Christmas tree!!!

This tree is probably afraid of heights, therefore not being hanged…lols =P

What is so interesting about this picture? Not the Christmas tree or the elevator or even people “lepak-ing” around…click on the picture to have a better view…

Can you see it? IT’S SNOWING!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Its snowing indoors…inside of Starhill Gallery!!! Apparently they have this “snow machine”…which actually blows out bubble foams that looked kinda like snow…hehe =)

Lastly…there is not one,but TWO candidates…which traveled all the way from Egypt…to Sunway Pyramid!!!

The first Christmas tree that I saw was around the lobby+dining area of Sunway Hotel…I think…if I am not wrong…a long lost twin of The Curve’s Christmas tree?(See previous post entitled,Sci-Fi Parade…)

Back to Sunway Pyramid shopping mall…

A low angle view of the Christmas tree…

A higher altitude view of the Christmas Tree…

Hmmm…it looks kinda like an apple tree, does it?

Oh well…that’s about it…I wanted to go to Suria KLCC,but kinda out of the way I guess…And perhaps there were shopping malls nearby the ones I went to,which were not featured here…like Sungei Wang Plaza,Subang Parade, etc…either there was nothing interesting(no picture worth taking) or I just didn’t plan to go…Not so free to go to ALL the shopping malls throughout Malaysia leh…lols =P So which one do you like?(There were other Christmas trees around the same shopping mall, but I’ve only took pictures of the ones which caught my attention =P ). Take the surroundings into consideration too(although the pictures that I took doesn’t justify this very much <=P ) Which appeals or felt very Christmas-ty to you?
(Including The Curve, viewable from the previous post,Sci-Fi Parade…)
Comments please…Thank you =)

Just wanna take this opportunity to wish everyone…
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Ho-Ho-Ho…have an enjoyable day…Santa Cheese signing off =P

Sci-Fi Parade…(Part 1)

Just a day after the last day of University(Saturday,16th December 2006),I received a phone call from Su-Lyn,asking whether wanna watch a movie in Damansara Cineleisure or not(instead of the proposed plan on Sunday,17th December 2006). Together with Pin Pin,both of them wanted to jalan-jalan and do some shopping, before heading back to Penang. Took a shower and off I go…

If one wishes to watch a movie, but not to go either TGV or GSC

…then Damansara Cineleisure would be the only choice left…or you could opt to purchase some DVDs though…

After I bought the tickets for the movie, the next place to meet up was at The Curve…Now what would those two doing over there? Funny I should’ve asked…shopping ler,DUH…so I took my sweet time…leisurely walked there…took some pictures with my cameraphone…

This picture was nearby the entrance…The Curve decided to have a blue-themed-Christmas decoration…

Close-up shot of a decorated Christmas tree…

This here is the mini-version…

Then I went up to the second floor…

Now this is probably the “mother” of all the “baby” Christmas trees…gigantic in size and up to three storeys high!!!

In front of Damansara Cineleisure

An enormous wild penguin on the loose!!! Hmmm…I haven’t watched Happy Feet yet though…

Quickly,we ran inside Damansara Cineleisure from the rampaging penguin…To be continued in Sci-Fi Parade…(Part 2)

Sci-Fi Parade…(Part 2)

Continuation from Sci-Fi Parade…(Part 1)

Where did I left off? Hmmm…Oh yeah, the rampaging penguin part…So,we managed to outrun it and entered Damansara Cineleisure safely. Why didn’t the mad penguin chased after us? Well…errr…it was too FAT to squeeze itself through the entrance doors…Aha!!! It’ll probably take a few months working out in Fitness First or Celebrity Fitness,in order to enter by the doors, unscathed…for Chubby the Penguin(spontaneously named by me) =P

Upon entering…we felt we were in a different dimension,a Twilight Zone if one might say…

There was a Sci-Fi&Fantasy Festival…in conjunction with the movie Eragon…which we were gonna watch later…

Posed with a Trooper(not so sure which one, probably the ones riding the Speeder Bikes) from Star Wars

Feel the wrath of my Finger-Gun… =_=”

(edited: Previously posted photo had been taken away upon request…those who didn’t saw it…too bad then =P sorry)

Me with Freddy(from Nightmare on Elm Street)

A scene from an alternate version of Red Riding Hood
Me: Why Grandma(Freddy)…what long sharp nails you have
Grandma Freddy: So that I could be famous…like Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands!!!

Another scene from an alternate version of Red Riding Hood
Starring Su-Lyn and a Predator
Take 2,ACTION!!!

Su-Lyn: Why Grandma(Predator)…what long hair you have
Grandma Predator: So that I could be famous…like Rapunzel!!!

That looked like fun…so I went to try it too…but…

=_=” Looks like Grandma Predator lost her/his cool…

After all that, had dinner in IKEA…no we didn’t ate furnitures,it was at the fast food sort of like a restaurant place…cuz Pin Pin wanted to eat Swedish Meatballs…and after that, movie time!!! The show was ok-ok,I didn’t read the book, though and to me,the movie was kinda “rushed”…well, the producer had to squeeze all the stuff he could in a 2 hour movie(actually,it was less than 2 hours…minus the advertisements and movie previews)

Now everyone wants to fly on a dragon instead and MAS/Air Asia/other airline sevices…can go bankrupt =P

Thus ends another University Semester…

After another week in University…it had finally ended…another semester had been completed…so what happens after 12 weeks of “educational” days? It’s the sweet sensation of holidays of course…for 3 weeks!!! Shiok…hehe =P But of course, there is a catch to it…right after the holidays…EXAMINATION strikes with a menacing attack which makes a holiday doesn’t feel exactly like a holiday at all!!! Oh the horror…Oh the pain…Oh the frustration…etc… >=0 Eerr…ok-ok,at least there ARE holidays rather than none at all…Have to plan my “battle plans” appropriately ler I guess…hehe

Actually there is another post that I wanna update first…but before that,I’ve decided to post this one up first…sort of like a tribute to the last week in University before the holidays officially started…although it wasn’t all that fun since I’ve been in a “finishing up coursework” mode…Anyways, just read along for the time being while waiting for the next update ; )

A view of a typical day(as in for this week) in the Engineering Computer Lab…as students alike spent most of their time...finishing up their work…

SUDDENLY…it started raining like cats and dogs…just like the ones you see in those natural disaster type of movies or in Discovery Channel(note:over-exaggeration to keep readers interested =P )…Look outside…beyond the window panes…dark clouds emerged,as though white fluffy cotton candy had been barbequed into charcoal…strong wind that would make Superman lose his outside-worn-underwear while flying…razor-sharp rain drops that could pierce flesh…Is this the end for all mankind?!! Or it might be due to the dark-tinted glass of the windows…Hmmm…anyways it was raining quite heavily during that time >=P

Thunderstorms…Lightning strikes…students that were doing their work(particularly SIMAPRO) encountered server problems…Oh no…Oh shit…Oh “chia-lat”…etc…What sort of other misfortunate problems might befall upon them next?!!

SUDDENLY…FAST-FORWARD…the blogger had been able to go back…safe and sound to his house in TTS5…just in time for dinner =P But this is no ordinary dinner…well it LOOKED ordinary…but it was cooked with the skills of a MacGyver-wannabe…cuz apparently,we ran out of gas for cooking…so had to resort to other methods of cooking…

The “heroes” of the day…

The ever-useful electrical rice cooker and its faithful sidekick, the mini-oven!!! Eeerr…with an adoring fan of overgrown-sized bananas(plucked from the fruit trees behind the TTS5 house) =P The dishes wouldn’t be done without these “saviours”…its also one of the rare “healthy” meals we had…no(not much) oil was used and mainly involved steaming by using the rice cooker…minus the fact that there weren’t any vegetables and even a curry dish was served…not THAT healthy =_=”

Once everything was done and settled…all courseworks were “kau-tim”…time to endure the usual loooonnngggg way back home…

Bus ride to Kajang KTM Station from Campus…Hmmm…looks to me like a tour to somewhere…with tour guide, dressed in red included(standing up) =P Eeerrr…wait a second,am I in the wrong bus? Hmmm…

Here is where the dreadful part comes…

SUDDENLY,the population in the KTM train increases tremendously…particularly train stops at Midvally and KL Sentral…it was around evening, between 5pm to 6pm a.k.a. “Rush Hour to Go Home” time …

Finally…after a long journey…reached back home…

And TA-DAA…yet another post-letter arrived from UK…This time it’s from Yau Fee…Thanks for the card, man…and may you enjoy your Christmas over there in UK…completes the package with snow for a Christmas feeling too ; P

Ok…thus ends another post to fill up my blog…

Time to enjoy the holidays!!! Happy holidays to everyone!!! And for those who aren’t enjoying themselves yet…don’t worry,it’ll come sooner or later…just be patient =)

Just a Random Post…

Just to keep things alive in this blog…in other words…to update it…here’s just a short summary of random things(yes-yes,everything seems to be random since I am unable to connect any sort of events together…)…just wanna show what can a very bored+busy with coursework person does with his cameraphone(SE k750i)…

Its almost the end of the year…raining season comes…

Combo together with gusts of wind…some mini-flood on the path in the campus…nice environment to stay indoors and sleep…

The path…that I walk to and fro…between rented house in TTS5 and University…

…in this case, walking back to the rented house…overlooking the clear skies filled with fluffy white vanilla flavoured cotton candy clouds…pondering on life’s questions, choices, decisions, etc in my mind…deep in thought…thinking…like what’s on the menu for dinner tonight? Lols =P

This is what I had been staring lately…for the past few days…

Computer-coded scripts…MATLAB coursework…in the Engineering Computer Lab…somehow,I am not meant to be an IT Specialist or Software Engineer…haha…looks interesting, but not easy to do…takes some time to learn it though…for my case ler

Life as a student in university ain’t easy…high expectations from parents…lotsa coursework and due dates are looming in…obtaining high marks for exams…broke-up with boyfriend/girlfriend…etc…feeling very STRESS-lah!!! >=(

Well,no worries…just drop by here…some sort of Meditation Centre nearby…to de-stress…let your mind ease and flow like a river in a Zen garden filled with Japanese Corps…enhance your spiritual well-being…Hmmm…if only the place is still open ler…cuz it had been overgrown with tall grass and there is no one to be seen around…!!! Eerie feeling…

Oh…haha, here’s something interesting…found from the postbox in the TTS5 house on one fine day…

Received letters from UK…addressed to “Handsome Gentlement” and “Beautiful Ladies”…note:actual spellings, not edited…

Opened it…

Pop comes out a lovely Christmas card…

All the messages crammed inside the card with nice finishing touches…to be read by each “Handsome Gentlement” =P as for the “Beautiful Ladies”…it’s the same card except that they are more “Beautiful Ladies”…so,more crammed messages and less fancy-fancy designs inside…hehe =P

After reading the messages…we tried to guess who wrote which message(as there were from 3 distinctive people)…so of course, the group of “Smart and Handsome Gentlement” knew after much discussion…

My reply to 3 of em’…provided they are reading this post:

(Note:edited =P )
PW – Looks like it’s that time of the year,
The month of December, means Christmas is here,
After finishing coursework, enjoy the holiday cheer,
While you’re there…please don’t drink so much…beer? Lols =P
(Suppose to rhyme…something like her message, the last line is quite random, hehe)
YY – Good-good…eating is good for your health…although you eat as much as me over there…better be moderate and EXERCISE outside the cold-cold weather =P According to research(conducted by the NICCNational Institute of Cheese’s Crap-o-logy),it is proven to make transform one into a “Beautiful Lady” instantaneously, after much time is invested in it =P Good luck and all the best!!!
KP – Lols…ok-ok…this post no “gourmet” entry upon your request =P I envy your “pro-chef” over there…skillful in the arts of cooking and yet portray beauty in the eyes of the diner…unlike here,we have a “pro-yet hairy-chef”…lols(to our “pro-yet hairy-chef”: Don’t get angry ya…haha, can attract diners/customers who fancy hairy ones…caution, gender not classified though =P )…Merry Christmas and enjoy the Steamboat!!!

Thanks PW,YY and KP for the Christmas card…that had endured the long journey…to arrive here within the grasp of our hands…

I guess that’s all for this entry…need to resume back to coursework…haha

Not really THAT busy ler...as portrayed by this fella =P At least not yet ler…might be like that fella as the due date draws closer…

Hmmm…a post without any food pictures doesn’t seem right…randomly post something up ler, such as this…

Before…

After…

Finger lickin’ good? =)

“Walk-walk Find Food”(Jalan-jalan Cari Makan…)

First and foremost…I know that by updating this entry with “another food post” will/might make other readers feel angry/envy/hungry? …Hehe, perhaps I should rename this blog to something else…Food for the Hungry Cheese’s Soul?(sounds lame, thus consideration to rename it shall not be considered at all)…Didn’t really have the time to do any “interesting” post for the time being(usually I prefer to associate my post with pictures,so if there isn’t any pictures, hence no post about it)…errmmm…food can be considered “interesting” rite? =P Quite occupied with courseworks and others are busy as well,so not much outing nowadays…

Enough of the boring part…time to view some “bothersome” pictures =P

On the day of my birthday(by now,it would seem to be some time ago)…went all the way to SS2 to have lunch with my family…

Randomly choosed to go eat at this place…Nutri-Pot

We ordered some sort of fish dish…

Raw ingredients presented…sushi but without rice? =_=”

Then, one of the workers came to mix all the stuff like Rojak…

…and dump practically everything into the stainless-steel frying pan,on top of an electric hot plate…fry-fry…*sizzles*

Basically, its just like cooking at home…except with a gimmick of showing off an electrical cooking device in the middle of the table with a hole in it,to impress “jakun” people…

Food is cooked and ready to be eaten…Itadakimasu!!!(Japanese saying before eating…meaning something like,“I humbly accept”)

Now fast forward…to roughly about 2 weeks after that…

Was invited to a wedding dinner…my dad’s boss punya daughter wedding…at first didn’t wanna go,if its those Chinese dinner(very long)…turns out that it isn’t…

Furthermore,it’s a buffet…in STARHILL!!! The place is called Jogoya…(couldn’t find the huge signboard at the entrance…maybe don’t have one,so took this picture instead…a sticker that customers are suppose to stick on their shirt…feel like a tourist on a group tour =P )

So…as a true “Malaysian”…I couldn’t say no to this offer and decided to go =P

As I walked towards the reserved tables for this particular event…making sure not to get lost in the process,as this place is kinda like a maze…dim-lighting doesn’t favour my
SE k750i for photo-taking…as can be seen from the “economy-classed seats for two” picture taken above, excuse the minor bad quality of photos ; )

The restaurant is a Japanese buffet,so expect the usual Japanese meals such as Sashimi,Teppanyaki and Tempura…as well as other minor non-Japanese meals like Dim Sum,Chinese,Western,Italian,BBQ,etc…

It would be very wrong and contradicting if the place doesn’t serve SUSHI!!! This is the closest picture I can get…any closer,my SE k750i would be “eating” the sushi instead…and there are people queuing behind me(must be pissed…“Why-lah this fella taking pictures instead of taking the food?!!” =P At least I chose the time when there isn’t much people around and “ngam-ngam” still got sufficient sushi to be in the picture ; ) But then, these are the “cheap” type of sushi(besides the Unagi=eel)…the “expensive” ones at another section mainly got eaten already,in other words “kena sapu dah”)

On a side note…the adventurous side of me finally tasted…SNAILS!!! Or Escargot? Well,it was labeled Japanese Snails…not that bad, hehe…tasted kinda like squid

Mini coconut drinks…

Aha!!! Who says that Malaysia don’t have snow? Eeerrmmm…ok,in this case “Man-made snow that looks like fallen snow” =P

Moving on…we have…

Mr. Teppanyaki in action!!! Actually,I think people will be wondering why this odd fella wearing a green shirt(me) is going around snapping pictures with his cameraphone…a secret agent…a spy? Maybe I should get a DSLR camera and a fake ID tag…also try to act “professional” =P

Last but not least…the dessert section…

There are more sections, but I just chose to snap a few pictures and post em’ up…More cakes again?!! Cake-phobia since ate too many cakes on birthday…by now should be cured already ler, hehe…

Of course, must thank the organisers of this event…the new lovely weds,Chee Ghee and Peck Sim…“Pai-seh” if just come and eat only, not knowing the people who sponsored, haha…Blessings for the future to both of them!!! Hmmm…perhaps I should have “Ta-pau” some stuff for my housemates in TTS since I am going back to there straightaway after this dinner…actually,by the time I reached back to TTS…it was kinda late already and all of em’ were asleep…lols

Time to get back to coursework-ing…staring back at the computer screen…sooner or later I think I am gonna go blind…lols

Credit goes to Wei Sun(Sayaka) for sending me these oddly looking pictures…that some of you might notice…appearing on my MSN Messenger display picture recently…with different moods(reflecting myself)…Hehe,I guess Sayaka misses Japanese food in UK? And I think Melissa too…lols =P
