Holidays are here once again =)

Why the lack of updates nowadays? If my dear readers may ask…well you don’t see an author of a best-selling book churning out his or her masterpieces every single day…do you? All I can say that certain piece of work takes time…to be turned into something worth its time taken…like wine, the longer it is kept in its bottle, the better it tastes(to some people only =P )…but then it might be like food…the longer you keep,it will eventually become rotten…with exceptions to milk as it’ll turn into yogurt and then into cheese as time passes by =P What I am trying to say is that certain things takes time to be done in order to turn “it” from an ugly duckling into a beautiful-glorified swan in the end =P

Ok-ok,enough jabbering around the bush…I just never really got the time to update my blog as often as possible and when I do,as you can see from my previous posts, they tend to be very long. That’s because sometimes I prefer to compile everything and jam it into one post, like a can or sardines. It also depends whether I have enough contents to blog about or whether my mood is at its right moment or because basically,I am the EDITOR of this blog,so I can choose to update my blog, whenever, wherever, however, whatever, whichever, etc…etc…way I want!!! MWAHAHAHA >=P

Ehem*Ehem*
Today’s post would be quite short(or maybe long) though…with a few pictures ; )

The previous week was quite strainous cuz most of the assignments had to be done and handed up…but once that was over,Whew…a sigh of relief fills the air around me…the temporary burden acted against me had been lifted away slightly…and some of my other university mates were a lil’ bit free too…so one night, decided to go to a restaurant in Kajang called 1st Station…hehe,Kajang is DAMN BIG as we took almost 1 hour to get to the restaurant and found out that one of our fellow “navigator” took a wrong turn in between the journey(going around the highway was so “fun” cough*cough* =P ) Anyway,we made it there in one piece and had dinner…the restaurant serves a mix of Chinese and Western meals…as well with special drinks with bizarre names such as Initial D,King Kong,Happiness, etc…etc…I ordered Fish&Chips(didn’t want to eat chicken cuz that is what I had been eating almost ALL of the time in the Campus Cafetaria =P ) Quite not worth it cuz a thin guy like me prefer to gobble up something much more for the price that I am paying for =P but nevertheless,my first meal (besides rice and noodles) at a faraway place ; P

One of my housemate,Eddie…enjoying his “special” drink…its called Happiness…comes with a mini umbrella(which he eventually kept)…see how “happy” he is =P

And introducing one of our dinner held at my place in TTS(Taman Tasik Semenyih)8 person is the record for number of guest who had feasted in our humble abode…inclusive of 2 girls!!! Haha…in the times to come,it would eventually increase…I think…then we would hafta bring in another set of tables, chairs and cutleries…as well as to “extend” our kitchen area and upgrade the cooking utensils =P A random thought from me,that a Cooking Club should be established in my university, cook, eat, learn and have fun at the same time…no need to worry about the same ol’ bland meals in the Campus Cafetaria like BRINJALS & BROWN TAU FOO AGAIN?!! =P

The honourable guests/hosts from Left to Right,
Yau Fee(Taylors mate a.k.a Jonathan),Pek Wee(girl who looks like a small girl but in reality is actually a year older than me,born in 1985 liao),Yean Yen(our “navigator” in Kajang =P ),Eddie(The Iron Chef has choosen to prepare 3 meals for that night, good stuff =) others are take-aways as seen from the plastic wrappings),myself(goofing around with a tomatoe),Handoyo(a.k.a Dobby-Boy for certain reasons =P ),Kiwi(note that the name is spelled incorrectly but sounds similarly to his real name =P ) and Kah Peng(the mysterious cameraman who took this picture)

After goofing around with a tomatoe…I decided to open a bottle of champagne…errr…I mean cooking-oil =P

Note:The guy at the bottom of this picture is the “mystrerious” cameraman who took the previous picture =P

Playing around with mangoes is more fun than eating them…

“Does these mangoes make me look fat?” Kiwi questioned with a Mona Lisa wannabe smile =P

On the last day before the following 1 WEEK HOLIDAYS!!! WOOT!!! =) we decided to travel like nomads(with the exceptions of using cars) from Semenyih…all the way to…1 UTAMA…inclusive of traffic jam,the journey took roughly 1+ hours…had McD’s and watched a movie,The Legend of Zorro(or known as Zorro 2)…I didn’t watched the first Zorro though…in my opinion, the movie was quite sucky…not much Zorro action as the protagonist is most of the time playing the role as a citizen…battling his role to be a father to his wife and son or to be Zorro…politics stuff here and there(geez, always turns out ugly for a movie involving politics)…bad guys get defeated too easily…the movie had certain scenes of quirky humour but overall, not so good in the end...For now,I feel like watching Doom(I heard its sucky too) and Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride =)

Till then,to all Nottingham students, enjoy your holidays…although its only 1 week…and to all the others out there, all the best in whatever you are currently doing or pursuing…may it be exams, trouble in academic life or love life, depressing moments, etc…you’ll eventually overcome the unforeseen barrier and progress to the end and achieve your happy ending…Take care everyone!!! =)

Blogging before dawn...ZZZzzz

Another week has passed…which means another so called “eventful” week in small town Semenyih…So far I had survived almost 4 weeks, which is equivalent to 1 month’s worth of onslaught towards the life of a university boy…Time flies really fast when you least expect it,before you could even count the number of M&M’s in a packet, before you could even sip the first drop of Coke from its chilled bottle, before you could even say or express yourself how much someone means to you compared to a bag of Mr. Potato chips…etc…(why am I relating time with food anyway? Due to fasting month perhaps? =P )

First of all,my laptop is back in action…managed to exchange the laptop…well to another one which is the same brand and model…but nevertheless,I could smell “new-ness” of the laptop once I popped open the screen…the previous one had some problem due to…the motherboard was burnt!!! I was shocked, only used it for about 3 days and roughly 2 to 3 hours each session…already burnt?!! Probably cheap-stuff,pirated,second hand sort of thing…worst moment is that it failed me when I needed it…anyways, the new one still have not shown any signs of malfunctioning yet…at least for now…the most longest hour I spent running the laptop was 9 hours straight(read ahead to find out) without any stops and no air-conditioning…so far,so good…still haven’t obtained “my” SIRIM approval yet =P

Lab sessions had begun way earlier from this current post, thanks to the number of assignments…I barely find the time to blog and less time to get some shut-eye…My first lab report cost me to be a “temporarily zombie” for a few days…that’s what happens if one does things the last minute…no choice, damn blur, don’t understand the concept of the experiment, couldn’t find the lecturer to ask, less likely to have a “group meeting” with my “randomly” choosen labmates cuz they are as blur as me,etc…Panickedly got everything done on the night before the due date, the sounds of tapping on the keyboard was heard from 9pm till 6am…finally it stopped as I decided to Shut Down my laptop as well as myself too…slept for 2 hours and woke up at 8am to go to university. During the Computer class session, seized the opportunity to type out the last few remaining details. Once it was done…it is done, felt slightly better…but then, another lab report is due the following week, which is on the 25th October,Tuesday
=( *frustration*
Moral of the “short” story: DONT DO THINGS LAST MINUTE…IT’S A KILLER!!!
(As I am typing this entry,I am also in the midst of doing the 2nd lab report…haha,multi-tasking)

Apparently,I had been “randomly” chosen as the “group leader” for my lab group…consisting of one Malay girl and a Sri Lanka girl…both of them are ok…cooperative,in a way…but sometimes I feel that I am the one doing the most, not during the experiment, but after…where it is the time to figure out how to calculate the values, discuss certain given questions,to *ehem*ehem “edit” certain data obtained from the results, etc…For example,I decided to have a group meeting the following day, which is the day after the experiment where we already have all the required datas…so I assumed that everyone of us went back to crack our heads and see what each other has to say the other day…well,surprise-surprise…the only “idiot” who did it was me…

The previous Thursday(also due date of 1st lab report,at 4.30pm) which I decided to stay back till 4.30pm to ask questions regarding the 2nd experiment,Malay girl went back happily at 2pm,cuz she was sick and manage to ask for an extension to hand up her report (which I could go back too since I had already finished mine, provided if I am EVIL to keep everything to myself and hand up the lab report without hesitation). I sense that the Sri Lanka girl was in need of help, so I helped her,let her “refer” to my lab report…in the end hand up in time and used the last few minutes to ask the lecturer, before the shuttle bus from campus to Kajang KTM station leaves at 4.30pm…as I rushed towards the “meeting” point…lugging my baggage and my laptop…I saw that there wasn’t a single soul at the designated spot…I knew that I’ve already missed it…AIH~ >=( so waited for the next one at 5.45pm,while sitting down at the cafeteria with almost depleted amount of energy and the 2nd experiment paper in hand,to figure out…

On the positive side,I joined the Music Club…dunno why I did it,but just wanted to find something to past the time, among the other clubs and societies that were featured on Fresher’s Day. Always wanted to play music instead of listening to one, either guitar or drums,to classical melodic type of instruments such as the humble piano. Its also good to know that they are friends and others out there that you can rely on in need of help, particularly for assignments and other non-related to academic stuff =P No worries,I scrub your back as well as you scrub mine too =) Eating together also brings joy and laughter to the companions around the dinner table,be it eating outside or having a pot-luck in the dining hall of our humble abode. Sometimes I felt that life is meaningless as I bury myself with assignments most of the time…but in a way, there are times where I just let everything go haywire for a moment…feels great…well, till the extend when I decided to resume back to “ass-ignments” =P

By the way,did I mentioned before that I had a roommate that had just moved in? Well, not recently, but it actually had been roughly 3 weeks…some overseas guy from Bangladesh,a Muslim, quite humble and a bit clumsy at times. But anyway,he is now my ex-roommate as he had managed to get an accommodation lot in the campus compounds. Good for him.as it is difficult for him to travel around and mix with pork-lovers(haha,all the occupants of the house are currently Chinese) like us during dinner time =P So if anyone wanna come over,be my guest…I cant guarantee it is a 5 star status hotel, but heck it beats sleeping in the streets.

I think that’s all I can say about at this moment…my mind is still focused on the “completion” of my 2nd lab report as time dwindles by for every second I use to press the relevant keys on my keyboard. I was thinking of getting a digital camera,so that I can take pictures and can even post up “interesting” sights on da blog, see first…for now it remains as a “maybe” status. It is around 3am now,Sunday and raining heavily outside…time to get some sleep…try to update often I will…but for now,it is not…Farewell…ZZZzzz…

Assignments madness... >=P

It has been roughly 2 weeks of not updating this blog…that is unacceptable!!! It feels like someone who ate half a sandwich and left it in the refrigerator to rot…it feels like someone who planted a flower in the middle of the dessert, but left it to die without taking care of it…it feels like someone who already used the toilet after doing their “business” but didn’t take the trouble to flush the “substance” out…

Two “excuses” why this blog was not updated within the past few days…
One:Assignments…need to be done and handed in a.s.a.p…hehe,actually partially due to,choose to do “last minute” =P
Two:My brand new laptop, which I just bought it the previous Saturday…within a few days, sudah KO-ed,couldn’t load the Windows program during the StartUp…which in turn,I couldn’t type out my “sample” blog first before I publish it on the blog-site…and my half-done assignments were inside…therefore,I had to finish the remaining work(luckily I saved it in my thumbdrive, apart from the laptop) at the Computer Lab in the University, which only operates till 9pm only…decided to stay overnight(illegally) at my classmate’s room in the hostel…What great fun with a crazy bunch of guys, all of us struggled to finish our “last minute” work ; P

As usual,I am still not satisfied with the campus food…same ol’ stuff with same ol’ expensive price…but nevertheless, some days managed to go out to eat during lunch hour(MMMmmm…pork =D ) and dinner time was even better, finally some of us start to show some cooking skills…not bad,it actually tasted pretty good if one cook his/her own meal…ironically,I haven’t opened any canned food or the “ever-popular-bachelor’s food,Maggi Mee” yet =P Take a look below, one of our latest self-prepared creation…

In case you guys/gals are wondering what the heck are those…these are actually Spaghetti and “Sour Vegetable Tau Foo” soup…MMMmmm, finger lickin’ good =P

So far,I have 3 assignments and another one(or perhaps MORE!!!) coming soon…one lab report, one complicated Excel spreadsheet and an essay…hopefully, this time I “try” not to do em’ “last minute”…but I doubt it,see first how it goes…Apparently, the essay which is under the subject,Enginneering Industries…I think I’ll choose one of the topics entitled,Industrial-scale cheesemaking…seriously,no joke…haha,it has something to do with the “cheesy-ness” in me =P Do something different, unusual and unique that I think no one else would do…cuz the other topics are quite dull to me…

Behold!!! My laptop!!! The HP Pavilion DV 4103AP…Hopefully it gets repaired back a.s.a.p,so that I can get back in action to finish up my assignments in campus…and to listen to mp3s…and watch movies, etc… =)

Haha, for those who have nothing to do or not in a mood to do anything related to academic sort of work, click here to find out what your name is in Japanese, together with a “rough” meaning of it in English…mine is Hamano(Seaside field) Masahiro(Big hero) =D Please take note that this is merely just for fun and do not take it TOO seriously… =P

Thus, ends the post for this entry…I would like to crap-talk some more, but the thoughts of assignments in my head makes me feel uneasy at every present moment…hopefully everything goes well for the next few days…Logging off now…

A week in Nottingham University...

Ladies and gentlemen…The Cheese is BACK in da house!!! =D After enduring approximately 1 week of staying in Semenyih and going thru the “hoo-haa”s in University…all I can say for now,its good to be back…Forget about all the assignments, lectures, accommodation problems for a slight moment…pretend that it didn’t happened…until the following Monday, then only start worrying =P

Reporting my status and the reconnaissance done by me as an undercover student for some sort of top secret government project…(wait a second,I think I've just only blown my cover D'Oh =P Oh never mind…)

Academic:So far so good…my timetable quite “free” if I compare it to the other Engineering courses…the lecturers for the modules that I am taking were OK…some of them have the skill/ability to “read notes straight from the slides shown on screen” as though they assumed that we do not know how to read English…About 1/3 of the modules are “back to basics” lessons for me,“deja vu” moments in A-levels…anyway I’ll take these opportunity to re-cap back what I learnt due to “forget-ness” syndrome after roughly 4 months of not opening any sort of subject books/notes…Already have 1 assignment that needs to be done and handed up on 11th October, some sort of technical report+proposal letter…not sure how to do it,but anyway will try…still got time =P

Accomodation:Hmmm…where do we start…well I stay in Taman Tasik Semenyih, which is off-campus under the supervision of a company named Pioneer(approved by the University)which make sure that our living spaces are in OK condition…I live in the Double Room, upstairs…which means that I have to share the room with another unknown person and the toilet would have to be used equally by 3 people,me,the unknown roommate and my housemate in the Single Room,so far my unknown roommate is M.I.A(Missing in Action),so I get to hog the whole room for myself, including the fella’s cupboard, desk and bed,MWAHAHA!!! >=P My room is quite small but “live-able”…thank goodness I am not claustrophobic…obviously cheaper than living in the University hostel, but it has its downside…For now, everything seems to be in a “semi-chaotic” situation…the pantries in the hostel are not ready yet…some rooms don’t have curtains yet, including ours…On the first day when I arrived at the house, checked everything was in working condition…went out and came back after dinner,as I entered the house, the sound of “water falling from the sky” was input-ed by my ears to my brain, understood that it was raining…so I felt lucky that I came back just in time…after walking a few rounds within the house,I noticed the porch area shows no sign of rain at all,but the “rain” sound was still being heard…investigative measures must be undertaken and as I approached the back door, opened it and…found a DEAD BODY!!! No lah =P found out that water was gushing out from a pipe beneath the roof(I think it is used to drain water from the roof when it rains)…even more odd that ONLY our house has this “phenomena” as I observed the other houses…it seems the water from the tank beneath the roof of the house is overflowing because the “black ball thingy”(If you don’t know what this “alien” object is,please go to your toilet and open the compartment where water is collected in your toilet bowl…)is stuck at a position,so water keeps on flowing in…Now,we hafta go outside the house to open/close the main pipe in order to control our water source and to minimise water bill too…

Location:Semenyih is a small town in Selangor…never heard of it before? Well neither did I…until now…situated somewhere near Kajang…my campus is in the middle of an oil palm plantation,so technically it is in the middle of nowhere…nearest town is roughly 3km outside of campus and the place that I live in is roughly 1km away from campus…very troublesome if one does not have a car…*ehem*ehem*

Transportation:Seeing that I don’t have a car or I am unlucky enough to car-pool with others, relying on the transport provided by the University is the only choice…obviously there is ALWAYS a catch…In the morning,I had to take the van which only operates from 8am till 9am,overslept and miss it,you’re on your own then…coming back also using the same method, between 5pm till 6pm…So some days, class starts at 11am…still have to wake up early…I walked before a few times, but then decided to stop temporarily since I heard that a friend got mugged by 2 strangers while walking back around 4pm…Apart from the van, there is the bus too…but as you all know, that free bus services cannot be trusted 100%…it only operates during certain times and have the tendency to be late,DUH!!! The only time I use the bus is to get back home, via the KTM at Kajang, the last stop of the bus…it stops at a few places like the nearest small town,Semenyih and Medan Satay,Kajang(Not bad this place…at least it is a MUCH-MUCH bigger town compared to Semenyih…and it even has a SHOPPING MALL!!! =P Hehe,I feel and sound so “ulu”)

Food:The only place to eat is either at the cafetaria in the campus or a small little run-downed Mamak stall near my place of living…Unless one has a car, then he/she can just happily go for a joy-ride to anywhere outside to eat…Campus food is quite pricey, not much variety and I am getting sick of eating there day after day…If I am lucky,I would be able to hitch a ride with a couple of friends to eat outside…so far,no luck yet =P The cafetaria is most of the time occupied with flies apart from hungry people, dunno how they clean the place, worst than those roadside stalls…Another BIG problem is that the cafetaria is DAMN SMALL…how the heck are they gonna cater over(estimated)300+ people which ALL of them have the SAME LUNCH HOUR TIME between 1pm till 2pm? So some lucky people have no class at 12pm can makan earlier to avoid the LONG QUEUE or maybe the lecturer would let the students off earlier…Hopefully the timetable would be re-scheduled a bit to solve this problem before some group of “smart” people decided to go on a “hunger-strike”…hehe,means more food for those who don’t go for this “strike” =P

Entertainment:We are already located in the middle of nowhere…what to do,eh? Surprise-surprise we have a Sports Complex…Heh,only 1 basketball court,1 tennis court,2 squash courts,2 badminton courts,a football field,a gymnasium(with a few table tennis) and a 25m swimming pool(in the making)…Sounds fun?Well not for the over 500+ students(or maybe more)…Usually in the evening it is used cuz not so hot and lessons probably ended already, the football field and basketball court(singular for each)is always fully densed with people…Oh I forgot to mention that we have ONLY 1 foosball table and 1 snooker/pool table(not sure whether it is snooker or pool)…there is a BIG TV in the Student Lounge and Astro…not bad,eh? Well satellite dish…Check…Astro decoder…Check…Smartcard to be used in order to watch Astro…errr…hmmm, where izzit arrr? Speaking of TV,I thought at first those living in the hostel would have one each…hehe, apparently not…thank goodness my off-campus house have one…so far we only could watch a blue screen everytime we switched the channel…cuz there is NO ANTENNA…anyway I don’t plan on watching television, nothing to watch…most probably I’ll bring my PS2 over there =P Oh,I’ve managed to “unlock” some sort of weird game programmed into the TV…so there is a “small” glimmer of hope for entertainment…really sucky games though =P One word to say it all…BORING!!!

There are many more “issues” to be covered in my report like the library, internet services, etc…but I think it is already too “lengthy” =P Feel very outdated since I haven’t really been reading the newspapers, especially The Star, since I set foot upon this deserted barren-laden wasteland away from civilization, cut from all connections to the world =P There is going to be a new revolution next week, the Iron Chef Cheese is going to COOK his own meal(apart from Maggi Mee)after years of not holding up his blade of cookery and emblazing the frying pan with the spirits of the undying flame…Hehe, actually I seldom cook unless I don’t have a choice…since I am getting sick of Campus food(Got cook before you know, using firewood when I was a Scout in secondary school,Don’t pray-pray… =P )

Anyways, hope you enjoyed me making you feel bored and wasting your time,Haha…till then, keep in touch in the “virtual world” Adios…for now…

This is one of the Student ID that I stole during my early infiltration into the University…in order to maintain my secret identity for “undercover” sort of work…Ironically, the fella looks just like me =P
