To the Star…(Part 1)

Greetings and welcome to another post…I haven’t been updating regularly(hah…as though I did >=P ) and my avid readers always felt disappointed whenever they re-visit my blog again and again…only to find out that the first thing they see is still the same post as the last one they had seen…a thousand apologies, but hey…if a new post pops up,then everybody would be happy then =) Now for the latest post…

On last Saturday(26th of August)…a get-together was planned among my secondary school mates who were still around(as in not studying abroad yet…)…in a way, this was supposed to be some sort of belated birthday gathering(which birthday girl’s “important” day was roughly 2 weeks ago!!! What to do…everyone is kinda tied up with their stuff…and finally manage to settle on that day =P )…Where did we decided to go? Hmmm, read on to find out…(Those who already knew…don’t care, must still read on to the end of this post >=P )

Firstly…to travel to our destination…we would require a Transporter…and well-well,problem solved…our ever lovable “personal driver”…Craig(who also is the host for this event) decided to switch from his usual vehicle,Proton Gen 2 to a more spacious Proton Perdana so that can car-pool…a total number of 6 people!!!(Including the driver)…haha, hafta squeeze a bit ler…at least not as bad as squeezing(well more of like getting squashed) in the LRT/Monorail…for the perilous journey to KL!!!(He knows the way to our destination as well as able to swerve his way around the lean-mean streets of KL…plus he was able to use the car on that day) Hmmm, feel a little bit bad to call him a “personal driver”…never mind, from now on he’ll be known as Transporter Craig!!!(sounds more gaya,eh? =P )…anyways, joking lah

Finally reached KL and obtained a parking space…so before we went to our “primary” location…must fulfill the secondary objective first…which is to fill our stomach with food, haha =P Went to have dinner at Secret Recipe…the 6 of us consist of Craig,Camellia,Weng Siong,Mun Yee& her younger sis…and of course ME also lah =P Without further ado,it is time to unleash my SE k750i to snap some pictures…lols…So here is the first picture of the day…my dinner(Note: From now onwards, please feel free to click the images to enlarge for viewing pleasure =P )

SPAGHETTI&MEATBALLS?!! Although the humble spaghetti&meatballs is just too plain ordinary to be taken a picture of…who cares!!! At least its something which I haven’t eaten for a very long time since I’ve started working…cuz always eating the same stuff from the restaurant which I worked in…so sick of it(at least no need to pay,so hafta tahan a bit >=P )…the quality of the picture not too bad,eh? But obviously lose to cameraphones with 3.2 megapixels(mine is only 2 megapixels) and digital cameras =P

After dinner, everyone was happy-happy cuz we headed to…Starhill!!! Went there to yam-cha…no not in Mamak or Chinese coffee shops(I don’t think so those exist in Starhill…high-class ler)…the place that we came all the way from Petaling Jaya is…

Tiffin Bay

The ambience of the place is quite relaxing…with jazz music being played…included a live performance when the time comes…sorry lah,Kenny-G not present there for performing, busy schedule ler so there was some local band playing the instruments instead(got singing too,but not Karaoke-ing =P )…speaking of its surroundings, there were quirky furniture used…such as…

A “unique” table…

This picture doesn’t really justify its “unique-ness”…the plates, fork, spoons.knives and plastic cups are actually INSIDE the see-through table…you hafta go to this place to see it for yourself…

A stand lamp that couldn’t be bought from IKEA

Instead of using an ordinary pole for the lamp…they decided to stack metallic saucers, pots, plates, bowls.etc…above of each other…there is actually another stand lamp that use porcelain instead(but I didn’t snap a picture of it cuz the staff working there told me that picture-taking is not allowed…apa ni?!! >=P )…so high-class place but using cheap stuff such as these…lols =P

Tiffin Bay serves dessert stuff such as cakes, chocolates, tiramisu, etc…and also drinks…milkshakes, cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine, scotch, etc…

I ordered a White Chocolate Milkshake…other stuff quite pricey(which doesn’t mean that this milkshake is cheap though >=P )…and since the chocolates are irresistible to the eyes(and mouth too),but the price that accompanied with each piece of chocolate makes me rather spend it on sushi…so just snap a picture of the menu only ler…Mark my words,I will return to eat you chocolates some day!!! Lols =P

(Please continue reading on To the Star…(Part 2)…by scrolling down…encountered problems using Blogger, for that I had to split the post to two parts >=P )

To the Star…(Part 2)

(Continuation from To the Star…(Part 1)…due to problem with Blogger, had to split the post to two parts >=P )

(Note: Now using a proper digital camera to take pictures…thanks Mun Yee for the pictures)

Time to take pictures of people instead of objects only…(Left to Right for all following pictures)

Contrast of colours…black&white…ala’ Yin&Yang…Craig…errr…I meant Transporter Craig and ME =P

Look who made it here!!!

Its Jien Eu and Michelle…came after classes…the flash from the camera made them look like a successful operation of Michael Jackson, haha(sorry couldn’t Photoshop cuz I currently don’t have the program with me)…look so cute lah, haha these two =P

After two-some pictures,now it’s time for a five-some…

Michelle(again),Weng Siong,Camellia,Mun Yee(belated birthday girl) and Mun Yee’s younger sibling(sorry,dunno her name =P )

After minum-minum…decided to jalan-jalan around Starhill…but apparently, all the stores are closed(not like we are gonna buy anything anyways)…went to the lowest floor, which is the foodcourt(which is still open)…and WHOA,its one of the nicest-looking food court I had ever seen…but of course the price would be also one of the most preposterous that I had ever know for a food court =P Starhill is also connected to JW Marriott Hotel via some sort of colour-changing-lights passage…wow and cool at the same time =D

Gals trying not to be “jakun” and took a picture…

Hafta wait for the lights to change to purple colour upon request from Mun Yee…favourite colour marrr… =P

Guys which were “over-jakun” and took a picture…

AAAAHHH…the fire is burning our faces(person taking the picture must’ve been trembling after seeing this bunch of jakun-ised guys…which is why the picture turned out this way =P )

The “over-jakun” guys strikes again…3 of em’ only this time

Admiring the JW Marriott Hotel sign(too bright to be seen in this picture, once again couldn’t be Photoshop-ed cuz I don’t have the program with me)…once again, trembling person taking the picture =P

Now,you think you’ve seen everything eh? Wrong!!! Starhill is a place definitely for people of the upper class…the shops over there sell really branded high class stuff…heck even the security guards are wearing nice SUITS with a tie, which you might’ve mistaken them to be managers or CEOs!!! The highlight of this sophisticated place for “jakun” people like us(or is it just only me?)

The TOILET!!! Seriously…when one goes into a toilet, you might expect the usual toilet stuff…but have you seen THIS before?!! (Note: We were totally amazed after entering it the first time,so we went in a second time to snap pictures, lols…taking pictures in a toilet, what the hell were we thinking?!!)

In the gents…

This my dear readers…is a sink to wash your hands…no it doesn’t have any automatic sensors…so as you can see,the attendant in black on the left hafta pull down the bamboo stick and VOILA,water comes out…so that the little kid on the right can wash his hands =) Geee….the attendant looks kinda bored, hehe…salute the fella for appearing in the picture lah,but as for the kid I dunno how he ended up in it =P

In the Ladies…

You might be thinking…how would the ladies toilet contraption look like? Lucky for me,I don’t need to go undercover as a lady to find out…their version of the sink is actually a giant wheel…you just spin it and VOILA,candy comes out from the faucet!!! Lols, water comes out only lah =P

And here’s how to use it…self service

Apparently, the other sink is able to be pulled by one’s ownself…see the amount of “internal energy” required to operate this tricky contraption, lols =P

After entertaining ourselves…time to head back home…but pit-stop at Mun Yee’s place once again for chatter session…she’s gonna go to UK,early September…so that’s why must bersuka-ria often before she leaves…so nice of us to treat her(and her sis) for dinner and yam-cha-ing…Wah,really-really quite “pokai” now =P but oh well,as long as it makes other people feel happy…then I suppose its ok ; ) So,remember to go visiting to Starhill while you’re in KL!!! =) You can opt to visit Mun Yee or Craig’s blog to read their version of the story…

On a side note,last day of work is on the 31st of August5pm…then,MWAHAHAHAHA!!! I am a free man!!! >=D MERDEKA BABY!!! Lols…ok really sleepy now,good night/morning everyone…

The handphone rings...

Finally, the moment that you all had been waiting for!!!

Hmmm,ok-ok,it’s actually the moment that I’ve been waiting for...

A brief history first =P From my first handphone in late 2003,the Nokia 8310…which fulfills my need of communication, although it sometimes frustrates me by “hanging” halfway during phone calls/SMS-es/playing a game of Snake…in turn, was lost on the voyage to Redang Island around late May 2006…so,a substitute was called into action, the big clunky “rare” Nokia 3210…it made my pants felt like it had a huge pimple whenever I insert it into my pocket and after using it for about 2.5 months,it is time for it to be given a “long holiday”…awwww,I never even got the chance to use it for eating crabs =P

Anyways, introducing…my new handphone!!! The Sony Ericsson k750i!!!

Finally a handphone that has a colour screen…comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera…and able to play polyphonic tunes(MP3’s as well) =) Although,it isn’t one of the latest Sony Ericsson models,it is within my budget and has most of the good stuff(no 3G compatibilities,I don’t think I’ll use 3G for the mean time)…Would have to get used to it,since a sudden change from the Nokia era to Sony Ericsson era(For example,I keep on pressing the zero button for spacing during SMS-ing =P ) and now I’ll hafta bring my own handphone charger around(unlike Nokia, where all the models uses the same type of charger),its different from old and new Sony Ericsson models...bought it from Sungei Wang

And while I was there,I’ve decided to buy these stuff too…

A “protection” for my SE k750i(at right) which comes together with a free screen protector(at left),the handphone protector is made from rubber and is quite pricey,I might as well go to 7-11,buy a pack of condoms and use it instead…can get flavoured ones some more and also to be used for “my protection” =P …also obtained a free keychain(the heart-shaped one at the bottom left) from the handphone dealer, aihzzz give something better lah, lols >=P …and if you’re wondering what is that black box(at bottom),its actually a BOMB!!! Eeeerrr…it’s a 100GB external hard disk for my laptop, got it from Low Yat Plaza(Yay,finally more hard disk space!!! =D )

First message received on my SE k750i: From Hotlink…lols
First message sent on my SE k750i: To my dad
First call received on my SE k750i: From Jason Goh a.k.a SmashpOp…thanks for recommending the place to buy at a good price =)
First call dialed on my SE k750i: To my dad
First hand to touch my SE k750i: Right hand
First picture taken on my SE k750i:

“Get your SE k750i today!!! While stocks lasts…” lols…ok,no more useless facts to be mentioned anymore =P

Do you remember last time, when you are outside…we would have to rely on public telephone booths…lazy to bring coins? Never mind,we have something we used then…it is called a phone card =P And you know what? I used to collect those phone cards…whether it was discarded on the streets or obtained from people who finished their credits on the card already, here’s a look at some of my collection at a glance…

I’ve also obtained some limited phone cards from my uncle too, such as…

Jackie ChanSupercop

And…

Bruce LeeThe Big Boss

Now that I have a cameraphone…which I can use to snap pictures on the go…so hopefully,I’ll put it to good use in taking some “interesting” photos and update it on my blog,if deemed necessary, haha…but obviously,a digital camera will do much better for other picture-taking purposes…feel like getting one for myself, but seeing as now I am quite “Pokai”(Broke) after spending my hard earned cash from part-time working on one go…I guess it’ll hafta wait for quite some time…will recover back my “loss” by next month for August’s salary =( Last day of work is on 31st August!!! After that,I’ll be free from the chains of slaving in the workplace…haha, and I’ve finally started watching anime again(after getting them from Sue Inn,Thanks!!!)…watching Bleach nowadays

Alrightey then…it is time to bid farewell, await the next update then ; )

Movie spree...

Ahoy me mateys’

I’ve finally watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest!!! Yes-yes,apparently that most of everyone else out there had watched it too…so of course, being the last few ones to be able to watch before it stops showing in the cinemas is something to be proud about, haha =P Before watching it,I’ve also managed to find the prequel…Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl…among the old stacks of movie collections that my father buys cuz I’ve never watched it before

Actually I tried to get the tickets last week on Wednesday(GSC,1 Utama)…night movie around 9pm,so I planned to be there earlier(I went there around 7pm,thought of going even earlier but ran into some “complications”) in order to secure a seat…there was already a short queue and when it was my turn, the best possible seat is forth row from the screen…I declined and proceeded to TGV,worst, forth row from the front but all the way to the side…and then, the most “last resort” thing to do…I WALKED all the way to Cineleisure(near Curve and Ikano)…yes you heard me correctly…and in the end,the moment of truth…even worst, third row from the screen!!! Sadly, couldn’t watch it on that night and decided to retire back home…so,the moral(s) of the story is…either go very-very early to buy the tickets,if it is at night,go in the morning/afternoon to buy?!!(I don’t think so it is permitted, right?) or don’t go watch a movie on certain days at certain hours(no weekends, not at night,no Ladies Night,Movie Day,etc…) or be a kiasu and book online first,no matter whether the movie is popular or not,no matter it is at very odd hours where other people wouldn’t ever think of watch it…its like a card game,no matter how good you are,as long as the other players cheat, you’ll eventually lose anyway,so you might as well CHEAT like the rest of em’…then it boils down to who is the best cheater >=P Better safe than sorry…haha =P

After watching both of it,I think both of the POTC movies were ok-ok ler…couldn’t really say which one is better cuz I watched the 1st POTC on VCD(where else the 2nd POTC in the cinema)…if watched in the cinema,it would make a whole lot of difference…good action movie of pirate goodness…so for those who haven’t watched it yet…faster go and watch it!!! The ending is left hanging,so that the producer has an assurance that the audience would be back to watch the sequel…Will Davey Jones’s debt with Jack Sparrow be settled? What would befall the swash-buckling rum-loving Jack Sparrow, faced against the Kraken? Will we ever see Jack Sparrow again or we would hafta stick with the new “Captain”(Those who watched it would know)?...all these unanswered questions leaves the audience in suspense and high anticipation…

To Be Continued…

Captain Jack Sparrow says “Go watch the 3rd POTC when it comes out!!! In the mean time,go buy the 1st and 2nd POTC on DVD or buy his collectible action figures or just go to the beach and search for hidden treasure as well as building sand castles” >=P

I’ve also recently watched Kung Fu action flicks…House of Fury on DVD(yup, another old movie that I’ve never watched before) and the current Dragon Tiger Gate in the cinema(which was before POTC 2 cuz that time couldn’t get good seated tickets,it was at night on a weekend with a friend that came just about 15 minutes before the screening in order to buy tickets,so back-up plan commenced ler, haha)

I would talk about Dragon Tiger Gate since it is considered a new movie…Cantonese dialogues(there are subtitles for those who are unable to understand…I glanced at it once in a while cuz I only know minimal Cantonese =P ) and of course lotsa ass-kicking moments considering it’s a Kung Fu movie, perhaps a little too much CG which makes the fight scenes look kinda cool and yet, fake at the same time…The most fake moments are when the protagonists are fighting, they jump here and there, punch and kick furiously, but all these actions did not hinder their ULTRA stylish long hair being ruined or messed up at all…How the heck can one fight if his/her own hair keep flapping around covering their eyes almost 90% of the time? So being a Kung Fu fighter, one must have some sort of a strong concoction of hair styling cream/spray/wax/etc…or else just shave bald or don the Wong Fei Hoong long ponytail hair style =P After watching the movie, you might want to consider getting a new Nokia handphone as it is “advertised” numerously throughout the whole movie, hehe…what’s next? Preferred branded condoms to be used by James Bond in the next movie Casino Royale? Lols =P

All these Kung Fu stuff makes me wanna pick up some neat moves too…haha,I think I would opt for martial arts which is more towards the defensive side, sort of counter-attacking the enemy using their strength instead…brute strength wouldn’t suit me cuz I think that the stronger you attack the enemy…it is equivalent to the damage you are doing to your fists and legs, lols =P Just a random thought…

Thought of putting this picture up(as it has something to do with this post),it was around after the end of the 1st year, which was after the exams…more specifically,it was after the Redang Island trip…

Went to Ampang that time…and if you are in Ampang,as the saying goes “When in Rome,do what the Romans do”…so in this case,if you are in Ampang…of course one must eat Ampang Yong Tau Foo,haha =D After that,we went to watch X-Men 3 over there…thus explains this group picture…haha,I sure miss the bunch of University gang!!!

One thing I noticed though, when watching a movie,at night seems to be more shiok compared to watching during the daytime(if watching during the day, always bring one’s student ID…haha,it feels good to be a student, lols)…and to complete the experience of watching a movie, get popcorn and a drink…makes me feel more in a “movie” mood…but not good for your wallet ler =P Haha, more random thoughts

That’s all for this update, payday coming soon…hehe, means it is time to change from movie spree to shopping spree? Lols…Take care and errr…spend wisely?!! =P

Come on everybody…Let’s all do the “Jack Sparrow Run” for the Mega Sale, savvy?
